On The Demand Of Eastern Nagas

•-The Eastern Nagas have been demanding for a separate Statehood. If their separate Statehood will be more advantageous to them, their advantage is the advantage of all of the Nagas. Nobody will object to them. But their demand should not be based on blaming the present State Government. They have been as well represented as the other Nagas in the State. They have more Members of Lok Sabha representing the Nagas in the State. They have MLAs and Ministers on equal footing with others. Their representatives are not inferior to others. They may have some grievances but all such things can be tackled by sitting down together because no Naga claims superiority above others. There is no question of some Nagas being under the bondage of the other Nagas. It is not a wise utterance. All of the Nagas are free and equal. If they don’t feel free to be one with the other fellow Nagas, it is up to them. The Nagas are not to pacify one another to live together but we are living together as of the same ethnic group of people and as brothers and sisters only. My personal opinion is that they should be supported to fulfil their aspiration but like Telengana, it wholly depends on the Central Government whether to cede or not to cede. It doesn’t depend on the other Nagas. So shout to the Central Government and not to the Nagas as if they are demanding Independence from the Nagas.
The Eastern Nagas are Nagas and nobody denies their identity. The Nagas may have separate States or Provinces or Districts or any other administrative arrangement but all of the Nagas should have sense of love for the unity of the Nagas especially in the public apex bodies such as Naga Hoho, NMA, NSF and the like. The Nagas in cities and in foreign countries have sense of oneness and have the same fellowship but at home the apex bodies are divided houses. Administrative arrangement is a different matter but it is a matter of ethnic unity and if there is real concern for Naga unity, the question disunity in the civic apex bodies does not arise. If things are done in God centredness there will be no confusion but peace and unity will prevail.
