Dimapur DDMA 1st quarterly meeting conducted

Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) 1st quarterly meeting was held in the conference Hall of DC Dimapur on March 17.

Keeping in view the declaration of COVID-19 as pandemic by the World Health Organization and declared as notified disaster, DC Dimapur Anoop Kinchi IAS asked the DDMA members to be fully geared up and be prepared.

In the meeting, District Disaster Management officer Dimapur, Rendemo Shiteri informed all the villages under Dimapur district to submit the names of VDMA members at the earliest. He explained that villages that do not form the said VDMA would not be able to apply for any relief under NSDMA/ DDMA norms. He informed about identification of vital installation for CBRN Disaster Preparedness stating that NDMA insists to be on the watch of the Government. 

Rendemo also mentioned about identification/notification of village ground or open spaces as safe zone for evacuation during disaster. He expressed the need for proper streamlining on the issue regarding verification of SDRF forms by concern Department.

Informing about the availability of basic communication equipments Rendemo suggested for activation of District Emergency Operation Center and provision of human resource for manning the DEOC towards which DC Dimapur assured that it would be made operational. He requested for provision of internet connectivity to DDMA cell Dimapur to which DC Dimapur agreed to look into it.
