Dimapur, November 15 (MExN): Dimapur Government College held the 54th Annual Freshers' Meet on November 13 on the theme ‘Transcending the Barriers’ to welcome its newest batch of students.
Exhorting the students, guest speaker Extra Assistant Commissioner (Sadar) Dimapur Nukshimatong elaborated on how students, as responsible citizens, can use rights in the most useful and appropriate way and how one should transcend the barriers of the Naga Society, a press release from the College’s Publicity & Media cell stated.
Principal DGC Dr ML Ngullie welcomed the gathering and Suzzanna Yaden, Assistant Professor in English, invoked divine blessing upon the freshers of 2021.
The winners of the Poetry Writing Competition organised by the Literati Club, DGC in September 2021 were also felicitated with certificates which were presented by Kezhaleu Hesso, Vice Principal, DGC.
Illoto Chishi spoke on behalf of the freshers and Aoacum, General Secretary, DGCSC, welcomed the freshers and pronounced the vote of thanks.
The title of ‘DGC Mr & Miss Fresher, 2021’ were won by Washitemjen and Jassika Kalita while Vikeduozo Metha and Nungsangjenla were declared ‘DGC Mr & Miss Perfect 2021,’ the release stated.
