Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): Training on screening of COVID-19 for police officers and police personnel was conducted at the Chief Medical Officer’s Conference Hall on March 20.

“The training was necessary to assist the medical staff in the screening of COVID-19 of passengers at the entry points so as to ensure smooth and effective screening is being carried out,” Dr Imtiwabong, District Surveillance Officer stated in a press release.

During the training, Dr Imtiwabong urged the trainees to mandatorily screen all passengers and vehicles entering the state, especially the private vehicles, hired taxis and buses. He informed the trainees to contact the COVID-19 Control Room for any suspected cases and refer them to District Hospital for further screening and isolation if needed.

Dr Heto, ZLO, demonstrated the use of thermal scanner. He stated that the mode of transmission is through droplets and thus keeping a meter distance from passengers while screening is advisable.

The training was held in three batches. The number of trainees during the first batch was 21, second batch: 17 and third batch: 19.
