Disposal Of Septic Tanks

•-As appeared in the local dailies (27th July 2011) on proper disposal of septic tanks, the “Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB)” is to be highly appreciated and lauded, for taking up the initiative in creating awareness among the citizen of Nagaland.
With the advancement in every field of day-to-day living, when we look around, there is a total lack in constructing of drainage system and especially septic tanks. Let alone in commercial buildings but in private residences even of highly educated citizens in the state, who talk of developing the state but disposal of septic tanks fail to look around their own homes and surroundings. There is a disposal of septic tanks lack of civic sense and I believe every rightful citizen need to co-operate and join hands with the NPCB in creating awareness and in solving the problem; which has become hazardous to our health too, with the release of septic tanks everywhere thus overflowing even to the roads.
There are lots of possible and easy methods to dispose off the waste, in constructing proper soak pits or even with the help of Municipal councils who has already taken up the initiative of disposing with their “Cess Pool”. Why don’t we all join hands together in solving this menace and specially start from our own homes and create awareness amongst ourselves for a healthier and cleaner Nagaland.
