Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): The District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) review meeting for the third quarter 2018 cum inter-department coordination meeting on tobacco control was held in the conference hall of Commissioner of Police Dimapur on November 28.
The meeting was chaired by Father Joe Chairman PNF. Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic, Jatila gave exhortation on the danger of tobacco on our society and also challenged all the stake holders to work towards reducing its use. Dr C Tetseo, District Nodal officer NTCP gave a presentation on the tobacco control laws.
The interactive session was chaired by Vishal Chauhan Deputy Commissioner of police Zone-11. Various aspect of tobacco control laws were deliberated during the session and members agreed to coordinate in checking malpractices of tobacco use in the city.
Officers from departments including police, education, food safety, drug control, pollution board, DMC, legal metrology, taxes, excise, colleges and schools attended the meeting. Five schools were awarded tobacco free certificate during the function.
