Kohima, November 19 (MExN): The 11 District Legal Services Authorities- Dimapur, Kiphire, Tuensang, Mon, Peren, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Longleng and Mon with the aim of reaching out to the weaker and marginalized sections of society, successfully carried out the ten days nationwide Door-to-Door Campaign across the state from November 9 to 18.
Teams of Para-Legal Volunteers headed by Panel Lawyer covered a total of 160 towns and villages, 10813 households and 42,799 beneficiaries, a press release from NALSA informed. Door-to-door campaign is one of the most effective ways to apprise the public about the activities being carried out by an Institution.
The campaign started from the remote villages which are comparatively backward. The teams carried literatures in English and local dialect consisting of pamphlets, brochures, booklets about the objectives and activities of Legal Services and welfare schemes available under the state government. They also identified people in need of legal assistance but have not taken recourse to justice delivery system on account of economic or other situations.
