DIMAPUR, JANUARY 27 (MExN): The Dimapur Police Cyber Cell has arrested one person for posting a series of “derogatory remarks intended to offend and undermine the moral integrity of a female individual.” A press release from the PRO, Dimapur Police informed that one Imsumeren of Netaji Colony, Dimapur was arrested in this case on January 25. “The culprit had committed the offence by utilizing a fake ID on Instagram during a group chat and subsequently through private posts to the victim. The particular chat group (name withheld) which was initially used by the culprit was also taken down after Dimapur Police notified Instagram/Facebook Inc,” the press release informed. A case has been registered under relevant section of the IT Act in Diphupar Police Station. Dimapur Police meanwhile appealed to all concerned to exercise responsibility especially while posting comments or uploading any content on social media network sites, which may otherwise amount to a criminal offence in insulting the modesty of a woman.
