Wokha, November 29 (MExN): The Bhandari Block Task Force on COVID-19 and Village Level Task Forces on COVID-19 of Yimpang and Alikhum villages held an awareness campaign and COVID-19 vaccination drive at Yimpang and Alikhum villages on November 28.
According to a DIPR report on the campaign which was received on Monday, the campaign was conducted in line with the directive of District Task Force, Wokha, to accelerate vaccine coverage under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ programme, in order to reach to all the remaining eligible beneficiaries in the villages.
Intensified door to door awareness campaign was carried out by Assistant Public Relations Officer Bhandari, Lily Ngullie, Information Assistant, Kanili Chishi and the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). This was was followed up by vaccination drive of 1st and 2nd dose by the medical team led by Medical Officer of PHC Yimpang Dr Chonbenthung Ezung, Pharmacist Nzanthung Yanthan and the nursing staff of Yimpang, PHC, the DIPR stated.
Village Level Task Force on COVID-19 comprising the Village Council Chairperson and VDB Secretary, students' union leaders, church leaders and Anganwadi workers assisted during the programme, it added.
