Mokokchung, November 12 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Road Safety Committee, Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir convened a meeting and had a joint survey for identification of accident prone areas in Mokokchung town on November 12. Following the meeting and survey eight areas were designate as accident prone.
The designate accident prone areas are:
• Ungma 145.200 KM
• Marepkong ward 146.400 KM
• Marepkong ward near Hyundai Company 146.700 KM under NH 02
• Assam rifle Camp 147.500 KM
• Yimyu ward near IOC Petrol Pump 3.200 KM NH 702
• Near IMDH (Bridge)
• Near Petrol Pump Sungkomen ward 153.600 KM NH 02
• Old Tuensang road junction Tzusapang 155.500 KM NH 02
According to a DIPR report, the survey team included Executive Engineer, Mokokchung Electrical Division; Executive Engineer PWD (NH) Mokokchung and Service Provider from BSNL and the team was led by EAC Mokokchung, Vitolu Chishi and Traffic OC Mokokchung, Talimayang Jamir.
The Team visited all the areas and discussed to find right of ways and put necessary roadside barricades and caution road signs to help save motorist from fatal accidents, it added.
