Kiphire, March 19 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Sarita Yadav, IAS has directed all the political parties and public to refrain from election canvassing in any form till further notice for the forthcoming bye-election to 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly constituency as precautionary steps to prevent and control the outbreak of COVID-19 with immediate effect.
The public are also directed to follow the stated precautionary steps with immediate effect:
• Public are advised to refrain from holding any social, cultural, sports, political, religious, academic and family gathering.
• All official gathering such as seminars, workshops, conference in Kiphire district ate to be deferred until April 12.
• The public are requested to keep calm and refrain from believing or spreading false information spread through social media or other unofficial sources.
• Public are also requested to refrain from panic buying of commodities as there are enough stock of essential commodities available within the district.
• Shop and other business establishments are requested to refrain from hoarding and selling essentials commodities like masks, hand sanitizers, soaps etc or selling them at higher rate than the MRP.
• All citizens of Kiphire district are encouraged to reach out to the District Helpline Number: 9612921898/ 7005589941 for any information or clarification of doubts before believing or spreading any false or alarming information.
