Mon, February 24 (MExN): Moba Chang, Member of the Collective Leadership, NSCN/GPRN and Convener of the Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU), NSCN on Wednesday stated that the ENNWU is still committed to the December 18, 2007 resolution for maintaining peace and reconciliation without any territorial demarcation.
In his solidarity speech on the occasion of the ENPO’s silver jubilee, Chang extended gratitude to ENPO for the high level of integrity displayed throughout the tumultuous period of Naga political struggle.
“It may be noted that during that particular point of time only three groups were there i.e., NSCN/GPRN, NNC/FGN and NSCN-K group,” Chang stated referring to the 2007 resolution. “It was our expectation that the meeting would be forthcoming to bring the three groups together in principle. But our positive response, desirous of securing unity among Naga political groups was cut short when multiple groups mushroomed, giving heavy burden to the public and created more confusion,” he added.
Nevertheless, Chang appealed to ENPO leaders to be more pragmatic by displaying honesty and truthfulness on where they stand.
Stating that the eastern Naga people have contributed immensely towards the National struggle with selfless rescue of many situations which otherwise ‘spelled doom’, Chang opined that “We should continue to play this magnanimous role as more challenging tasks face us under the unfolding political scenario.”
Chang cautioned on the disaster for the people and the nation “if we fight among ourselves physically and politically at the behest of divisive forces at work.”
Greeting the ENPO on its achievement, Chang hoped that the Organisation would show the way to other Naga people to salvage the Naga people’s political future and ensure that it is honorable and acceptable to all.
