•-In response to the article written by Rev. L Suohie Mhasi on 20th Sept.2011 in Morung Express regarding demand of separate Statehood by ENPO. The ENPO felt that there will be more advantage if we get separate Frontier State because the ENPO people were deprived of employment opportunity ever since the very inception of Nagaland State. Our resentment is not against this present Government but is a culmination of many things by successive Governments which cannot be jotted down in a paper.
In regard to representing in the Assembly the ratio according to latest population census is 5, 72098 ENPO People is being represented by 20 MLAs where as our neighboring District of Advance Naga are being represented by 10 MLAs with a population of 19,3171. Our question is where is the justice? We request Rev. L Suohie Mhasi to kindly tour ENPO areas and as certain by himself how far development has taken place in ENPO jurisdiction, “than comments”. We also want you to note that we are not demanding Independence from the Nagas but demanding Separate Frontier State from the Government of India (GOI) in a democratic manner.
And in regard to Member of Parliament issue it is not the matter of ENPO but it is a Political Question as to which Political Party set up which candidate.
We therefore urge all Naga brothers not to apply salt to the old wound or provoke to react.
MANGKO PHOM
President ENPO
