Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Association (ENSA) has called for an ‘immediate and impartial investigation’ into a alleged drone strike on a civilian residence in Langkho Village, Eastern Naga Homeland, Myanmar, on October 3.
According to ENSA, the incident occurred at around 12:04 a.m. while women and children were inside the residence.
It stated that 12-year-old and her elder brother were injured in the attack, while the residence and its belongings were reportedly destroyed.
ENSA expressed concern over the reported use of force in circumstances that placed civilians, particularly women and children, at risk.
The association urged concerned authorities to take necessary measures to protect civilians and ensure their safety. It also expressed solidarity with the affected family and the people of Langkho Village and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
In its October 4 statement, ENSA said civilian protection should remain a priority and that such incidents should not become normalised.
