ENSF letter to Minister, School Education & SCERT

Hon’ble Sir,

With due respect, the undersigned on behalf of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation have the honour to submit herewith a representation on Teachers’ Interview scheduled to be held on 11th Feb’ 2011 in the 4 districts of eastern Nagaland viz. Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng.

Sir, in this matter, the Federation put forth the following demands for your immediate attention and necessary action  thereof.
1.    The Federation strongly refutes the Press Statement of the Education Department which appeared on 2nd of Feb 2011, where the Department had claimed that ENSF agreed upon the Department (as stated on the Press Note that, the Consultation Meeting was not held at the official residence of the Commissioner & Secretary, School Education but at the residence of the Minister, School Education & SCERT. Besides, the Federation haven’t given any concrete or written agreement on the said matter. In fact, the Federation had asked the Department to first produce a copy of the official order/memorandum to the Federation of the said Meeting before publication in the press. The Federation asks the Department to issue corrigendum in the press regarding the same.
2.    The Federation after a thorough deliberation and also looking into our present Educational standards and situations has decided that there should not be any percentage tag for both Primary Teacher and Graduate Teacher for the 6 Tribes of Eastern Nagaland. Therefore, the Government Relaxation Notification No. EDS/1-7/2008 Dated the Kohima 9th Jan’ 2009 must be reviewed as stated above.
3.    The selected Candidates who are to be appointed as P/T and G/T must be allowed to go for PSTE and B. Ed in-service without any restriction on percentage as required/laid down procedures to pursue for PSTE/B. Ed. It is to be noted that the 4 Districts of Eastern Nagaland have only 2 DIET Institutes for PSTE at Mon and Tuensang, therefore DIET Institute must also be established at Kiphire and Longleng within 18 months from the date of submission of this representation. The 4 districts of Eastern Nagaland does not even have a single institute for B. Ed, therefore the Federation also strongly demands that B. Ed course must be introduced in all Govt. Colleges of 4(four) Districts of Eastern Nagaland.
4.    The Federation stronly voice against the unadvertised vacancies by the Department in all the Districts across the State particularly in the 4 Districts of Eastern Nagaland. Therefore, before the Interview is conducted, the Department must re-advertised all the vacancies authentically based on district wise.
5.    The results and appointment orders must be issued on the same date for the entire state irrespective of the dates, the interviews held and results declared.

The ENSF states that all the above mentioned demands must be fulfilled, failing to address the genuine demands, the Federation will be compelled to boycott the scheduled interview on the 11th of Feb’ 2011 in the 4 Districts of Eastern Nagaland and would take necessary corrective measures.
Heretofore, to avoid further complications, the Federation anticipates the Department to take stock of the situation and address our representation on topmost priority at the earliest.
Thanking you.

Changsang Soted, General Secretary
