‘Everything is peaceful’ assures DC Kiphire

The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Borad, Kiphire today was mainly engaged with the issue of Sangtams and Yimchungers.  

Sharing his concern over the prevailing low and order in the district, the Deputy Commissioner said, “We are the witness of the situation in the district and so far everything is peaceful and no one should panic or be carried away by the reports that are being published in the media.” The DC also said that Yimchunger friends who have not leave Kiphire are living peacefully as that of others and therefore, people should not take otherwise or express displeasure. The DC also added, “Till date there has been no complain or assistant sought from any individual from District administration over the prevailing situation” and therefore there is no reason for the matters to be discussed in Kohima and Dimapur and get twisted. He also lamented saying that Sangtams and Yimchungers can met and discuss the matter as they have been living together for decades as family and brothers. The DC also informed that the demand made by the people has been taken up to the government for further discussion. 

The meeting was held at the official chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire with head of departments and advisors of KTC. Addressing the DPDB meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and the vice chairman DPDB advised the departmental heads present to be the books of the department for the public. Expressing appreciation to the HODs present, the Deputy Commissioner said, “In spite of the rumors doing round the corner in regard to the situation of the district you are here, which shows your concern and the responsibilities you have for the district.” 

Earlier, the Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital, Kiphire Dr L. Yanthan highlighted the grievances of the hospital and submitted a proposal to construct a retaining wall around CHK. The MS also said that the present fencing around the CHK is bamboo wall which is very insecure which makes the authority inconvenient.

Some of the DPDB members suggested that Government has sanctioned more than 3 (three) Crore for the development of the district under BRGF so it should not be a problem. Taking part in the discussion the Advisor board members, KTC suggested of taking up the matter on priority under any fund which the house agreed.

SDAO Agriculture gave a Powerpoint presentation of the departmental activities presentation to the house. The house also welcomed Mayang Superintendent Supply as new DPDB members. The meeting concludes with word of thanks from the chair.
