The fashion department of Government Polytechnic, Kohima held its 4th End Term Fashion Show on Sept 9 last with F.P. Solo, commissioner & secretary for higher and technical education as the chief guest.
Solo in his speech said the mindset of the students have to change from taking general course to science and technical education taking into view of the employability.He encouraged the students to take up different trades/technical courses being provided for gainful employment. Solo said the department is trying its best for ensuring gainful employment for students and asked the students to prepare to undergo various trainings and willingness to work outside the state.
Designers Weku-ü Khape, Rongsenrenla, I. Imtikokla Chang, Kiyhale Kath and Lipoksungla showcase their creations and received huge applause from the spectators. Weku-ü Khape, whose creation entitled “Oneself to community” won the ‘Best Creativity Award.” The show also witnessed personal collection of Rosou Rhi, Modovina Mocha and Kavili Kaba. Arenungla Longkumer also entertained the crowd with a ballet dance. Earlier, GPK principal Arjun Singh delivered welcome address.
