On fake and counterfeit goods in our markets

•-My attention has been drawn by the recent incident about selling fake cosmetics at Hazi Park, Dimapur, and the assault on the shopkeeper. This is just my personal view but I am sure many will agree with me, in Naga Society, whenever we catch a thief red handed, he is always given some blows and no one take side with him (unless he is seriously beaten), even passerby gives some punches and kicks and the society doesn't make a big issue of that as he has been caught red handed. It doesn't matter whether he answers all the questions or whether he accepts that he is a thief or whether he cooperates with his captors or not. The selling of fake cosmetics is worst than theft as he is not only cheating the public with their money but he is seriously causing harm to their body. So I personally think that he should have been given some extra blows so that he will think twice before trying to fool the Nagas again. I urged the concerned authority to carry out such raids even in the days to come. Nagas should wake up and not condemn such people. KUKNALIM
