•- The latest seizure of fake goods of branded companies like L’Oreal and Garnier has sent shock wave across Brand conscious Naga society. The seizure at Hazi Park Market has uncovered the nexus of few criminal businessmen and their respective welfare committees.
This is not the first time that Hazi Park Market is in news, these nexus has victimized and looted many innocent Nagas. Earlier, one lecturer of a secular college of Dimapur along with his brother-in-law was assaulted by the members of such welfare committees. There may be many more such assaults on either Naga or non-Naga customers of within and outside the state.
Hazi Park Market was also in news when Dimapur police cracked down on mobile downloading shops and mobile repairing shops which were involved in selling pornographic movies.
It is also an open secret that the businessmen of Hazi Park Market deal in fake and foreign goods without paying any custom duty. However, when someone government agencies takes action against these anti-social businessmen or such welfare committees, they blackmail the Government by shutting their shops.
Therefore, we strongly feel that Naga people should not bow down against such anti-social elements. It is better to suffer for few days without using such fake goods rather than encouraging such people.
We like to request Dimapur Municipal Council to cancel their trade license and also the Government to keep a watch on such committees, unions, associations, for better Nagaland.
If Mr. Anna Hazare can bring Lok Pal Bill to check corruption in India, then why can’t we initiate something to check such evil things in Nagaland? Last but not the least; we support the decision and stand of Mrs. Tokheli, for truth and anti-socials.
