In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Father's Day could not be celebrated in a grand way unlike the previous years as most of the Churches remained closed in Kohima.
A few churches in Kohima town opened today for the members to attend the services. In compliance with the guidelines, the Churches arranged hand washing facilities and sanitizers in front of the entrance. Most of the Churches conducted the worship service through YouTube Live Stream.
Rev. Shan Kikon, Senior Pastor, Faith Harvest Church, Kohima in his message to the fathers stated “Your voice is important to your children, so speak good news to your children. Tell them you are amazing, smart, I love you, I support you. In life, you will go through difficulty, but do not give up. You have the ability and you can do it."
Pastor Akumtila Kikon, Worship Director, Faith Harvest Church said that fathers are like the foundation of the building and they are the strengths and the pillars of the family.
Union Christian Revival Church (UCRC), New Market Kohima meanwhile celebrated Father’s Day by offering gift packages and special sermon for the fathers.
Zhabu Gwirie, Pastor UCRC highlighted how Father's Day celebrations commemorate and honour fathers around the world.
