Fight for 33% reservation is legitimate

Kohima | October 17 : Chairperson NSCW, Sano Vamuzo today stated that denial of women’s rights is a serious violence against women which directly says that they are not equal citizens with men. Vamuzo lamented that Nagaland has produced only one MP so far and there is no MLA till today, thereby, she said Naga women fighting for 33% reservation in the civic bodies starting from village councils to the municipal councils is a legitimate right for women all over India. She was delivering the key note address during the Kohima district legal programme organized by the Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) in collaboration with National Commission for Women New Delhi and Co-ordinated by Angami Women organization, held today under the theme “Know Your rights” at state academy hall Kohima.
