Fire Personnel seen fighting fires at (Left) Kumlong Ward, Mokokchung & (Right) 4th mile Diphupar ‘A’, Dimapur on June 21.
DIMAPUR, JUNE 21 (MExN): Two fire incidents were reported on June 21 in the State—one in Mokokchung and the other one at Dimapur.
In Mokokchung a fire reportedly broke out at 10:33 am on June 21 at Kumlong Ward. Fire and Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Mokokchung.
One kutcha house, comprising of two rooms and kitchen, was completely razed down in the inferno. A press release from the department informed that due to narrow passage, the fire personnel had difficulty in reaching the fire site.
The fire was eventually prevented from spreading further to the adjoining houses. Cause of fire was found to be due to LPG leakage. No casualty was reported. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Meyilemba Jamir & ASI Libanthung Humtsoe.
Meanwhile in Dimapur, a fire broke out at 11:19 am in Diphupar ‘A,’ 4th Mile.
One Assam type house was completely razed down in the inferno and property worth Rs 70 lakhs was destroyed in the inferno. No casualty was reported. The cause of the fire was due to short circuit, informed the press release.
Three fire tenders from the Fire Station Chumoukedima & Dimapur (Central) were dispatched to control the inferno. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Jonaba from Fire Station Chumoukedima & ASI Khamlu Phom from Fire Station Dimapur (Central).
