KCK Ahthibung was adjudged the overall champion of the various competition held during the first ever Kuki Baptist Association Youth Department’s (KBAYD) Ahthibung Gamkai and Chalkot Gamkai Kuki Christian Khangthah Combine Conference.
Ahthibung, February 1 (MExN): The first ever Kuki Baptist Association Youth Department’s (KBAYD) Ahthibung Gamkai and Chalkot Gamkai Kuki Christian Khangthah (CGKCK) Khanglai Khompi (Combine Conference) was held from January 28-30 in Phaijol Village, under Peren district.
A press release from the Chairman of Khanglai Khompi Committee Jethro Hangsing stated that the Youth Department of both the churches of Kuki Baptist Association Nagaland (KBAN) and Chalkot Gamkai Kuki Christian Church held the first ever joint conference under the theme “Pathen Lhendoh Khangdong” (The Chosen Generation Jer. 1:5).
On the opening day, flag hoisting and dedication was done by Rev K Singsit, Sr Pastor KCC NS, while the morning session witnessed praise and worship services. Young theologians Lamhao Sitlhou, MTh, Hoineichin Singson, BD, Paotinlun Hangsing, MDiv and Thangchungnung Singson, BD from different unit delivered speeches based on the theme “The Chosen Generation”.
The 2nd day saw exhortation by Pu L Singsit, IPS (Retd) & President Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) and various competition items such as choral, Lenkhom Laam, Bible quiz, and extempore speech etc were held.
In the evening, Thangjamang, President Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSON) exhorted the gathering while Pastor Lenkokam Hangsing, Secretary, CGKCC delivered the sermon. A modern traditional dance was also presented by Kuki Christian Khangthah, Kuki Christian Church Jalukie Town.
The third day featured Homily Sessions with different speakers from both churches including Pastor Nehkholal Simte, KCC Jalukie; Rev David Vaiphei, Youth Secretary, KBAYD; Henjakai Chongloi, Khaibun; and Pastor Seimang Haokip, Secretary, MGKCC.
The sermon on the concluding evening session was delivered by Rev H Minlien Singson, Association Pastor, KBAN.
The closing ceremony witnessed the prize distribution where KCK Ahthibung was adjudged the overall champion.
The choral competition was bagged by KCK Ahthibung, while KCK Mongjang (Bongkolong) and KCK Phaijol were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively.
KCK Ahthibung was also declared the winner of the Lenkhom Laam while KCK Phaijol & KCK Phanjang came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the Bible based quiz, BYE Pellhang bagged the 1st prize while, BYE Songlhun & KCK L Lilen bagged 2nd & 3rd Respectively.
In the extempore speech competition based on Traditional Kuki forefathers’ idioms & phrases, KCK Vongkithem was declared the winner, while KCK Vongkithem came second and , BYE Pellhang & BYE Songlhuh shared the third position.
