Kohima, October 11 (MExN): The Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Service Associations (FONSESA) has written to the Indian Engineers Federation (INDEF), proposing that March 4 be observed as ‘World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development’ as resolved by UNESCO.
In its letter, FONSESA stated that UNESCO had adopted the resolution to proclaim March 4 of every year as World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development’ through the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) in November 2019. Stating that the proposal has since received support from over 80 engineering organizations from more than 40 nations around the world, it suggested that “the engineering fraternity of INDEF can also join with the rest of the world to universally celebrate the contributions made by engineers towards the development of the nation.”
