A tractor bought through subsidy under CM Corpus Fund tilling the fertile soils of a field in Chumukedima area. As part of the DAN government’s ambitious vision “‘Food grains for all Nagas by 2020’, the government distributed 35 tractors and 33 power tillers to progressive farmers of Nagaland on May 23 last. However, owing to reported re-sale of the subsidized tractors in the past by unscrupulous beneficiaries, the state government has laid down a new clause wherein the tractors will be under government undertaking for one year. After a year, on satisfactory performance by beneficiary farmers, the documents of the tractors would be handed over to the beneficiaries.
