•-It was shocking and saddening to know about the food poisoning of the more than 100 children who attended the summer bible camp at cathedral, Kohima. The very first thing that struck my mind was How and Why these little innocent children? When their children are bound for the bible camp, no parents would least expect that their dear sons and daughters would land up in the hospitals but will be expecting that their children will come back home with new learnings and renewed spirit.
We have never heard or experienced of this kind of hazardous happening that endangers the lives of our dear ones at least in our land. Now, the question arises here whom should we blame? The organizer of the camp. No, my simple logic and calculation tells me that the bible camps are organized so that the children spent their vacation fruitfully and qualitatively, making this as the priority and motive the bible camps are organized to teach and mould the little children into a better person for the future but not to spoil or harm them.
The next question is when we look around the market many adulterated foods are sold rampantly and openly with no one to check and prevent them. The dead pigs, cows and poultry are slaughtered and sold openly; the expired grocery and other eateries items are sold, who is to prevent all these? The livestock and other food products that are imported to our land are been medically certified that it is safe for human consumption? If yes, why such incidence like bible camp at cathedral has happened? If no, which department is responsible for prevention of food adulteration and contamination? Isn’t it the responsibility of the concerned department to prevent all these unwanted and brutal happenings? Where is this department, what is it doing?
Oh! God, please do something to prevent another Poisoning!
