Having sought forgiveness from each other and being forgiven, it is time for the Naga leaders to love one another. This was the main point driven home on Friday’s devotion service at Niathu Resort Dimapur where the top leaders of the NNC/FGN, NSCN/GPRN and GPRN/NSCN have been holding meetings since last week.
Delivering a brief sermon, Rev Zelhou Keyho from Oriental Theological Seminary focused his topic on “the power of love” and said that the Naga leaders have not only forgiven each other in the name of God but agreed to accept each other as brothers and sisters. He, therefore, said it was now time to love one another. He urged the Naga leaders who have jointly signed several statements during the last few days not to turn back as in doing so, they would be deceiving God and the Naga people. “We will be deceiving God if we do not live up to what we have committed,” Rev Keyho added.
The speaker said that the declaration of ‘forgiveness’ by the leaders was based on the common right of the Nagas and not on individual right or the right of any group. “In our uniqueness, we should also discover our commonality for in it lies our destiny – the destiny of the Nagas as a nation,” Rev Keyho said. Extracting a Bible passage from Colossians 3 and relating it to his topic, the speaker urged the leaders to let love and unity always bind them together even in rough times as they sail forward in one boat.
The morning service was attended by the topmost leaders and other civil and military rank and file of the three Naga political groups, Naga Hoho, CNBC, NBCC, NMA, NPMHR, Naga Council Dimapur, Sumi Hoho and others.
