Former MLA Khuosatho no more; NLA speaker & others mourn demise

Kohima, November 14 (MExN): Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Sharingain Longkumer and others mourned the demise of former MLA Khuosatho Nyusou who breathed his last on November 14 in Kohima.

“Shri Khuosatho was elected to the Seventh Nagaland Legislative Assembly from the Meluri Assembly Constituency in 1989. He was re-elected to the Ninth Assembly in the year 1998 from the same constituency,” the Speaker said in his condolence message on Sunday.

Describing late Khuosatho as a devoted man who worked tirelessly for the welfare and development of his constituency and of the State, the NLA Speaker added that his death is a great loss to the Nagas in general and the Pochury community in particular.

“On behalf of the Members of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and on my own behalf, I express my deep condolences to the bereaved family. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” he stated.

K Therie: Late Khuosatho Nyusou was son of Late Lesümo, one of the founding fathers of Chakhesang Tribe who also served as FGN Commissioner, NPCC President K Therie stated in a separate statement.

He was a strong Congress MLA and was upright and dependable. We have lived together in difficult times. 

His contributions to Naga society through a career of public service will be long remembered and cherished, the NPCC President stated.

“The rank and file of NPCC joins me in offering our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. May the Almighty god grant his family peace and solace through this hour of pain. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.

Neiba Kronu: Nagaland’s Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu stated that late Khuosatho was the first post graduate among the Pochury tribe, who was elected two times MLA and also worked as vice president Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee.

“He was a humble, dedicated and an inspiring leader who immensely rendered his service for the society in various capacities as a politician and as social worker. In his demise, we have lost a good and humble leader who was an inspiration to our society,” the Minister stated in a condolence message.

Further, Kronu conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
