‘Free and compulsory education is a must’

Orientation on Divyangjan NIEPMA held in Phek 

Phek, May 7 (MExN): An orientation programme of the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan), (NIEPMA) was held with the Phek Deputy Commissioner Razouvolie Dozo as the special guest at Phek EBRC hall on May 6.

“Free and compulsory education is a must for the children where teachers play an important role and requested that no children should be denied at any cost,” the DC Phek said.

A DIPR report stated that Dozo said, “We need to create awareness to the whole section of the people so that disabled persons are treated equally in their own rights,” and called upon the people to pay special attention to those people.

On types of disabilities and overview on inclusion were presented by Dovine Venuh, Headmistress, Tabitha Enabling Academic, while the inclusion of children with IDD and Sensory impairment was given by Dr P Kamaraj HoD Special Education, Nodal Officer - North East Program.

The programme was led by Tabitha Enabling Society General Secretary, Vekutilu Vese Ngone while invocation prayer was pronounced by Bible Hill Youth Director, Chisata Swuro.
