International day for Elimination of Violence Against Women held at Meluri
Phek, December 8 (MExN): International day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women was held at Meluri on December 6, with the theme “generation equality stands against rape” organised by District Administration Phek, Sakhi one Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra.
A DIPR report stated that Medosa Yoho, officer incharge police station Meluri spoke on the topic “Elimination of violence against Women (Generation equality stands against rape).”
Vileno Kapu, Women welfare officer, District level centre for women Phek, spoke on the topic “Women related schemes & Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.”
Awareness on Sakhi 181 women helpline was delivered by Beweu Marhu, counsellor, Sakhi one stop centre.
Earlier, Flag off “Solitary walk” which was led by Pukha Lam, EAC Lephori. The programme was attended by all women leaders of Meluri Town Churches, women welfare Society Meluri Town, colony members and Pochury Mothers' Association. Jitsiasa Nyusou, Centre Administrator, sakhi one stop centre, chaired the programme.
