A glimmer of hope

Nagaland for quite a long time has been plundered with inefficiency in governance which has gravely affected our society. Unethical and unlawful affairs in the functioning of governmental departments have been rampant with no sign of deceleration. Without a doubt, the department of school education dominates the list. However, now the parents whose children are admitted in government schools can heave a sigh of relief. The directorate of school education's order of detachment/ re-deployment to all the teachers to their actual postings is highly commendable, provided it is put into force. As far as I know, those teachers were legally appointed by the government so as to impart education which is a guaranteed fundamental right. And the absence of teachers deprive the children of their rights, but for reasons best known to them, those teachers with the blessings of big shots decided to attach their posting to a "Do not touch me Zone" which is unjustifiable.

It is quite amusing to observe that most government teachers admit their children in the best private schools available with all resources and want their children to be fed with all the sophisticated knowledge. But sadly, when it comes to the part in executing their duties, they begin to juggle the lives of those innocent children or in some other case self-appointing as School inspector, more irregular then a college student who usually bunk classes . Whereby, in the process our society is victimised.

It was long overdue nevertheless the responsible department seems to have woken up from its heavy sleep and while at it , the other bigger issue that needs to be tackled is the distillation of proxy and legally appointed teachers and uprooting the practice of proxy through effective mechanism by the responsible authority which is otherwise severely stagnating the system of education in government sector also resulting in poor results.

Therefore, it is with great hope that with genuine responsible person in the decision making chair this unjust practices is repressed.
