Global Network Group (GNG) has opened its first of the chain of restaurants with the name Herbs & Spices at Kikon Place, DC Court junction Dimapur. Herbs & Spices which is a joint venture of GNG and Head Chef, Kiheto Sema was inaugurated by MLA, Moatoshi Longkumer on Thursday.
Presenting a brief overview about the restaurant during the inaugural programme, CEO GNG, Tiasunep Ozukum said that the Group aims to promote local entrepreneurs and showcase the rich culture, hospitality and food of the state.
He informed that the restaurant has two different settings – one with a Naga ethnic ambience and the other with a standard fine dining ambience. “The restaurant uses local herbs and spices in the cuisines and also promotes our local delicacies,” he added.
Besides being a fine dine restaurant, the Herbs & Spices also has a mini library loaded with books about Nagas and its culture and traditions written by Naga authors, paintings and photographs by locals and a ‘Made in Nagaland’ section where various artefacts and products made in Nagaland are available.
Also speaking at the programme, MLA Moatoshi lauded the group of young entrepreneurs for its venture and expressed the hope that Herbs & Spices would become an iconic restaurant. He noted that the food landscape in the state was changing and Nagas have slowly started to dine out. “Restaurants have provided so many avenues for people both in personal as well as professional aspects,” he added.
During the programme, local artist, Jano Nyekha presented a special number while the dedicatory prayer for the restaurant was pronounced by Ghonito Achumi, DC Court Fellowship, Convenor, DSBC.
