GOC-in-C Eastern Command visits Nagaland

GOC-in-C Eastern Command, Lt Gen MMS Rai with the governor during his visit to Kohima.
 
Kohima, May 20 (MExN): Lt Gen MMS Rai, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Eastern Command visited Kohima on May 20 and reviewed the security situation in Nagaland. The General Officer called on Dr Ashwani Kumar, Governor of Nagaland wherein he discussed the steps being taken to further consolidate the security situation in Nagaland, informed a press release received here. The General Officer had wide ranging discussions with the Governor to include the development projects being undertaken by the security forces in the State. The Governor, the release said, conveyed his appreciation to the GOC-in-C and GOC 3 Corps for the outstanding performance and contribution of the Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace and tranquillity in Nagaland.

The Army Commander also complimented all ranks of HQ IGAR (N) for their dedication and devotion to duty. He also conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to the populace, civil administration, NGOs, church and media for their continued cooperation with the security forces in the State.
