Multiple Google services and websites including popular YouTube and Gmail were hit with a rare widespread outage on December 14.
The outage seems to be across the globe as users took to various social media to share the news.
The technology news website The Verge citing DownDetector reported that the outage, which appears to be affecting Google’s business and personal services, started at around 6:40 AM Eastern Time United States (5:10 PM India Standard Time).
“Reports are mounting on Twitter as users can’t access its basic services, with Gmail and the hashtag “#YouTubeDOWN” starting to trend,” it added.
Access to YouTube fully resumed around 6 PM (IST), and at the time of filing this report (6:15 PM), other services were partially returning to normalcy across the board.
