Govt officers contribute medical aid to assist ‘poorest of poor’ in Longleng

Longleng, January 16 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), through the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M Shayung Phom gave away cash amounting to Rs 1.50 lakh to the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Longleng, Dr Lhouvizotuo Belho  which was contributed by the officers to assist the “poorest of poor” patients in the district.


In his short briefing after handing over the cash during the Longleng DBDP meeting on January 15, the DC thanked the Government officers and departments for their donation and cooperation extended towards the hospital to help the poor patients. 


He appealed to the hospital authority to judiciously utilize it to meet the expenses of the poor patients who could not afford to buy medicines and other medical expenses. 


Earlier, expressing serious concern for absences of members in the meeting without proper leave, the DC Longleng reiterated that no members should send their representatives unless the officer is engaged with other official duty and the same should be reported to the authority. 


The DC also appealed to the officers to participate in the 1st Inter Longleng District Badminton Open Championship organized by the LDBA. 


On behalf of Longleng District Badminton Association (LDBA), Chingtam Phom lauded the former DC John Tsulise Sangtam, district administration and officers who have contributed towards the association. He informed the house about the activities, performances and participation of the association at various levels representing the district. He further informed and appealed to the officers to participate in the forth coming 1st Inter Longleng District Badminton Open Championship (Men & Women) organized by the LDBA from February 5 to 8 at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Longleng. 


The Board also discussed on traffic congestion and formation of Officers Club of Longleng at length. Later, work distribute for Republic Day celebration was also conducted by the members. The IPR department distributed complementary copies of Nagaland calendar and diary 2020 to the officers and members of the DPDB present.
