DIMAPUR: The Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) taking strong exception at the recent deployment exercises of the Assam Government to conduct census in Naga villages, stated that the exercise was a serious development to create confusion and frighten the Naga public.

The GPRN through Romeo Sankhil, Secretary, Union Territory GPRN, taking strong cognizance of the exercise, observed that it was an activity with the usual tools in the form of 5th economic Census with provisions for house-list by the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Monitoring Committee allegedly for Golaghat in the Aghunaqa areas, which might create tensions and civil disorder among the public in the border areas. The GPRN also advised that the ‘so-called neutral forces should play the role of neutrality’ as well as wisely understand the ethics of neutrality which would bring about a harmonious border relationship between the two conflicting parties. “Neutral forces cannot be biased by any means” the release stated.

In this regard, the GPRN appealed to all the conflicting parties and neutral forces as well, to maintain a peaceful atmosphere to carry out talks smoothly as to bring about a final solution between the Government of India and the Nagas.
