A new business under the name and style 'Green Craft' was formally opened today at Longkumer Kilem Shopping Arcade, Mokokchung owned by young businesswoman Noktila Longkumer. Green Craft is a business catering eco-friendly products like furniture, interior design and decor for home, office, restaurants and café, souvenirs and gift items and other 'green' products.

All the products at Green Craft are made of bamboo, came and wood. Green Craft also offers construction works services. The proprietor Noktila Longkumer said that Green Craft is a one-stop eco-friendly store which will not only cater to the needs of customers but also provide income generation avenues to local artisans and craftsmen.

Green Craft was formally declared open by Tsukti Longkumer, president of Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry. While congratulating Noktila on the successful launching of her new business, the MCCI president encouraged her to be a catalyst so that local artisans would be benefited. Saying that Mokokchung being a small market, Tsukti Longkumer added that the town was however not a 'dying market' and added that Mokokchung's market was not flourishing as one would expect not because the consumers lacked purchasing power but because they do not "want to but local." Admittedly saying that the general attitude of the consumers was discouraging, he however added that people who venture ahead despite all odds achieve success in life. He also assured MCCI's goodwill support to Green Craft.

The opening ceremony of the new business was attended by friends and family members of the proprietor. Pastor of MTBA, Rev. Ponen Longchar dedicated the new business with a special prayer.
