Hardcore Addition, a dynamic and promising band of Phek was declared winner last night beating seven bands to fight for the grand finale on October 15th at Dimapur of the NSACS RockAware A Red Ribbon Superstar Campaign 2011 edition.
Sharing solidarity with the crowd packed audience and music lovers the Deputy Commissioner Phek Mikha Lomi who was the Chief Guest exhorted the youth by saying that people need not be afraid of HIV & AIDS but come forward to get tested and avail treatment
Speaking on behalf of positive people Messe Lakhro a member from PNP+ said that it is not HIV but stigma which kills us every second of our lives He also added, as you enjoy music tonight remember that you can contribute towards prevention of HIV transmission by leading a safe and responsible life and reduce stigma and discrimination directed towards HIV positive people.
The RockAware Brand ambassador Renbeni Odyuo along with Ayieno Kechu Deputy Director (IEC) also visited Phek Govt. College and Baptist Mission High school and exhorted the students on the subject of HIV/AIDS, and the importance of taking prevention and making the right choices a habit in life. She also enthralled the students with special song.
Kris Huire also shared about the medical services available in the district. Dr. Tinu Anachari of NSACS also shared about the ABC of prevention of HIV.
