Hardwork and dedication underscored at TVSU's cultural fiesta
Special guest in full traditional attire presented by TVSU during its 3rd triennial session cum cultural fiesta held at Sejung Ground, Tuensang village from January 7 to 9.
Tuensang, January 10 (MExN): The 3rd triennial session cum cultural fiesta of Tuensang Village Students’ Union (TVSU) under the theme “Transcending passivity of knowledge” was held at Sejung Ground, Tuensang village from January 7 to 9.
Special guest Yongchingkhumla, Joint Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, government of Nagaland in her speech encouraged the students by saying, “Every successful person has hardwork, strength and dedication behind them,” she stated.
She instructed the student body to keep track of school activities in the village to make sure that students learn to read and write in English. Encouraging them to promote quality education at the village level and then focus on the future generation, she insisted that they must inculcate the knowledge they have gained in their lifestyle.
Special invitee, Er Chingmak Executive Engineer, department of water resources; narrated his success story and the hard work he had to go through to achieve where he is today. He challenged the students to follow in his footsteps.
Seminars on topics such as sensitisation of women and child rights and building a generation of local entrepreneurs were conducted by Chulongla, centre administrator, Sakhi-one stop centre, Tuensang and Dorothy Chang, president, TCCI respectively.
Imlikumba, proprietor, Trinity Academy, Tuensang; Kushemyemjong, assistant professor, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung also spoke on during the event.
Dr Pritpal Kaur, SDPO, Tuensang; Kaimang Chang, president, Tuensang Village Citizen’s Union and Nungsanglemba, president, Chang Khulei Setshang were also present and spoke on the occasion encouraging the young students to excel in their lives.
The event witnessed the use of bamboo plates, cups, utensils, promoting the plastic-free environment. On the evening session of the 2nd day, under the theme, “The principles of creative society” was held where awards were presented on different categories such as religion, education, administration, social service, entrepreneurship and music to different individuals and groups.On the 3rd day, essay writing and painting competitions were held for the students.
