Kohima, November 2 (MExN): A one day medical health camp cum plastic free pledge campaign was conducted at Village Council Hall, Chedema Model Village on November 2. The camp was initiated and organised by the Village Adoption Committee (VAC) 10 Northern Angami -I A/C in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer, Kohima.
A DIPR report stated that the programme began with reading out the Plastic Free Pledge by the participants. The Convenor of the VAC and SDO (C) Kohima, Shaying Sheu informed that the main idea behind the campaign was to create awareness on health issues and how to mitigate the menace of plastic which is causing serious environment and ecological threat and to ensure the ban of single use plastic in the State.
During the medical camp, free medical regular check-up and medical services under the following programmes such as RMNCH+A (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn Child plus Adolescent Health), NCD (Non-Communicable Disease), NVBDCP (National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme), NIDDCP (National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Programme), NACP (National AIDS Control Programme), Counselling services etc were provided to the villagers.
The medical team led by CMO Kohima, Dr. Laso Lazar was accompanied by his team of six Doctors, two Medical Officers, four nurses, two pharmacists, two Vaccinators including twenty Medical staff from BPM and BAC (BPMU Staff), DPM, DPM (QA) and DCM (DPM Staff) for the medical health camp.
More than sixty patients availed the free medical facilities while three pregnant women availed ANC services during the health camp.
