RBSK Unit of Kiphire district, in collaboration with Atshikeh Trust and Akeda Amulung MMU Unit, organised health camps at Thangthure village and Good Shepherd High School, Kiphire.
KIPHIRE/ LONGLENG/WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): Health camps were conducted under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan (SNSPA) across Kiphire, Longleng and Wokha districts.
In Kiphire, the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) Unit, in collaboration with Atshikeh Trust and Akeda Amulung MMU Unit, organised camps at Thangthure village and Good Shepherd High School. Villagers of all ages, particularly children and adolescents, participated in services including 4Ds screening for children, oral cancer screening, entero-test, haemoglobin testing, hypertension screening, random blood glucose testing, HIV and NS1 antigen screening, scrub typhus and malaria testing, and tetanus toxoid vaccination. Health education sessions on menstrual hygiene, oral health, and tobacco cessation were also conducted. In addition, intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) treatment was provided to two women.
In Longleng, the District Health Society held SNSPA camps at Buranamsang village on September 25 and at Tamlu Community Health Centre on September 26. Services provided included general health check-ups, maternal and child health consultations, non-communicable disease screening, counselling sessions, and distribution of essential medicines. Awareness sessions on nutrition, hygiene and women’s health were conducted, with specialized departments such as dental, ophthalmology, medicine, dermatology and gynaecology extending services. A total of 164 beneficiaries attended the Buranamsang camp, while 249 were served at Tamlu CHC.
In Wokha, a special health camp was held at Englan PHC on September 26. Medical Officer Dr Mhajan Kikon delivered a health talk on non-communicable disease screening and prevention, and encouraged pregnant women to attend ante-natal check-ups. Services at the camp included general health check-ups, dermatology, AYUSH treatment, immunization, ante-natal care, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, and distribution of free medicines. Information, Education and Communication (IEC) leaflets on non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, malaria, and family planning were also provided. The camp was attended by Dr Niya Kath, dermatologist at District Hospital Wokha, Dr R Zechano Ezong, Medical Officer AYUSH, and Dr Mhajan.
