Helipad at Wokha approved

Wokha, September 10 (DIPR): Proposal for construction of Helipad at wokha was approved by the Wokha District Planning & Development Board after studying the feasibility report submitted by the technical committee where land owners are willing to give the land without any pre-condition as per the existing government rates. The land is located at Vankosung, which is 1 KM from NH-61. The proposed side is suppose to be constructed near Assam Rifles or NAP camps because of security reason, but due to non-availability of suitable location the board opted for the new side (Vankosung).

The monthly Wokha DPDB meeting held on September 9 at DC’s conference hall was presided over by Parliamentary Secretary for Home Guards, Prison, Fire and Emergency Services who is also the Chairman DPDB Wokha, W. Kithan. Dy. Speaker NLA Ralanthung Yanthan and Parliamentary Secretary for Geology & Mining, Irrigation and Flood Control, Y. Patton also attended the meeting.

In regard to the forth coming Road Show-cum-Tokhu Emong festival, the board constituted a Core Committee with DC as the chairman and Kyong Hoho Chairman as the member Secretary. District Agriculture Officer while informing the board about the rotten menace in Middle and Lower Ranges stated that the department is taking up preventive measures, where report on damages will be submitted in the next meeting. 

On the use of Industrial Land at Baghty, the DC informed that due to non-functioning or non-usage of the government acquired land, the land owners are trying to encroach or reclaim it, therefore the board directed all departments under the district to occupy the acquired land. He also informed that, no department should purchase land or sign MOU without the knowledge of the District Administration in order to avoid any complication in future. The DC informed that the Wokha District Badminton Association will be organizing Inter Departmental Badminton Tournament in the 1st week of October 2010, where he requested all Head of Offices to be prepared and participate in the tournament. DC & Chairman Red Cross Society also highlighted on the importance of Red Cross activities and urged enrolment of all officers and staff of Head of department. Earlier Parliamentary secretary for Geology & Mining, Irrigation and Flood Control Y.Patton requested the DC to issue necessary direction to all Head of Offices to attend the DPDB meeting positively. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairman.
