‘High time for Nagas to protect our rich culture’

Seyochung, January 4 (MExN): The 25th Seyochung Area Students Union (SASU) cultural programme was held here at Seyochung on January 4 with Tsanio Sangtam, Rtd DPRO as the special guest. 

 


Addressing the programme, the special guest said that culture defines our identity and distinguished attitude, behavior as well as traits. “Naga’s have been richly blessed with rich culture and traditions. But today we see that our culture and traditions is on the verge of extinction. It is high time that we protect our rich culture and traditions and it should be taken to a great height,” he stated. 

 


Earlier, the programme started with an invocation pronounced by Sethrio, Pastor New Monger village and a welcome address pronounced by K Hopongse Sangtam, Planning Chairman followed by traditional rice pounding song was presented by the Thsingar Village Students’ Union. The programme was chaired by the Cultural Secretaries, T Rodila and Seola.  

 


A press release issued by Planning Committee Secretary, Horiba Sangtam stated that various competitions like traditional fire making, cross bow shooting, filed harvesting songs etc was held.
