Kohima, September 22 (DIPR): The Home Department General Administration Branch-I, Government of Nagaland has issued order on Kheshepu Village.
Whereas Kheshepu Village under Zunheboto District was granted recognition vide order NO.GAB-3/2003 dated 10th Feb. 2005 on the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto and the Commissioner, Nagaland;
And whereas, the five Villages namely, Yezami, Litsumi, Lukhuyimi, Hekiye and Baimbo Newland under the Common title YKK (Yeza, Kughuko Kuqhakulu) opposed the recognition of Kheshepu Village and on the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto and Commissioner Nagaland, the Government issued notification NO.GAB6/56/2004 dated 30lh May, 2005 keeping the recognition of Kheshepu Village in abeyance;
And whereas, Keshepu submitted a representation against the order of keeping the village recognition in abeyance and failing to get favorable response from the State Government approached the High Court. The High Court has directed the State Government to dispose off the petition within three months;
And whereas, the matter was taken up by the Cabinet and the Cabinet decided to restore the recognition given to the Village vide notification NO.GAB-6/59/2005 (PT) dated 8th August 2008;
And whereas, the five villages under the title of YKK submitted a memorandum to the State Government to revoke the recognition of notification dated 8th August 2008 and indulged in arson violence from time to time;
And whereas, the YKK further submitted another representation to the State Government dated 20.11.08 enclosing therein an agreement dated 12th Feb.2008 entered between Keshepu and the members of Yezami village (Member of YKK) reflecting his decision to refrain from establishment of the said Kheshepu village;
And whereas, the State Government have examined all pros and cons of the present issue and the agreement entered between Kheshepu Assumi and Yezami Village (constituent of YKK) and for maintenance of peace and tranquility in the area hereby withdraw the recognition given to Kheshepu village vide notification dated 8.8.2008.
