Singing competition marks day 3 Kids Carnival

The singing competition as part of the Kids Carnival 2011 at the ongoing Hornbill Festival of Nagaland took place here today at the Naga Heritage Village. Dezievinuo of Oking Christian School Kohima bagged the first prize while Ruopfüno of St. Paul School Dimapur bagged the second prize. They pocketed Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 respectively. The judges for the competition included; Mercy Tetseo and Menguse. Meanwhile, painting /drawing competition will mark the day 5 event from 12:30 PM onwards. A subject on “My favourite cartoon character” is set for Group A, “Cock Fight” for Group B and “Heritage Village, Kisama” for Group C.
 
Greased pole climbing competition

A greased pole climbing competition (Indigenous Games) was organised today by the department of youth resources & sports and conducted by XL Foundation at the Naga Heritage Village today. The event witnessed seven participants. H. Bukoi (Khiamniungan) stood first position and pocketed Rs. 10,000 while Chingmak (Chang) and Xunito (Sumi) were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 7000 and Rs. 5000 for winning 2nd and third position respectively.
