DIMAPUR, JUNE 3 (MExN): The mortal remains of Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel from Nagaland, Corporal DJ Weo from Zakhama was laid to rest with full military honour at his native village Zakhama Village on June 2.
Cpl Weo, attached as an Administration Assistant to No 2 Wing Air Force, Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune died on May 31 after a brief illness.
The mortal remains of the deceased corporal was received and handed over to family at Dimapur Airport on June 2 where a wreath laying ceremony with full military honour by performed by “Air Warriors” of No 11 Tactical Air Centre, IAF under the command of Squadron Leader, H Vaiphei, the Senior Administrative Officer of the unit.
Many air veterans were also present at the ceremony.
Thereafter, his mortal remains were taken to Zakhama Village and laid to rest with full military honour by Indian Army under the command of Maj Kewal Kishan of 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth).
