DIMAPUR, May 3 (MExN): The Indian Air Force on Sunday paid aerial salute to all frontline workers for their contribution in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.


The IAF carried out its exercise by flying past COVID-19 hospitals across the country, dropping flower petals from helicopters as a sign of respect and solidarity to the  medical professionals  and other frontline workers. It also made use of its fighters and transport aircraft.


A fleet of Lockheed C-130 Hercules carried out fly past over Delhi while Su-30 aircrafts flew past Mumbai’s Marine Drive area. Army music bands also played in some COVID hospitals across the country, extending gratitude to doctors and nurses.


Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter hailing the mega exercise.


“Saluting those who are at the forefront, bravely fighting COVID-19. Great gesture by our armed forces,” Modi tweeted.


The Prime Minister also posted a short video of military aircraft, choppers and bands engaged in expressing gratitude to the health professionals and others.
