Kohima, September 24 (MExN): The Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees' Association (CANSSEA), along with allied service organisations, today announced that their members will begin wearing black ribbons or badges from September 25 to express their resentment against the state government’s IAS induction policy.
In a circular, the organisations stated that the symbolic protest is in response to the government’s decision to conduct the screening of Non-SCS (State Civil Services) officers for IAS induction on September 25 without restoring the Advertisement Circular dated March 10, 2025, despite multiple representations.
The organisations termed the state government’s action an “utter disdain.” The circular stated that the black ribbons or badges are a symbolic display of resentment against what the associations described as a policy “circumventing merit and opening avenues for officers without legally tenable recruitment into the IAS.” The display will be confined to offices within the state capital, Kohima.
CANSSEA urged members to maintain official protocol, discipline, and regular attendance during the protest and not resort to any disruptions. The federation also invited members of unaffiliated associations and offices to participate voluntarily in solidarity.
The federation said the future course of action will be communicated based on recommendations from its Core Committee and Action Committee.
The circular was jointly appended by CANSSEA, Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Service Association (FONSESA), Nagaland Finance & Accounts Services Association (NF\&ASA), Nagaland In-Service Doctor Association (NIDA), and Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA).
