ICA India to counsel commerce students

Dimapur, NOV 7 (MExN): To help facilitate commerce students towards making the right career options, Premier Enterprises with the State Bank of India have invited the Institute of Chartered Accountants India (ICAI), The counselling session will be conducted on November 9 at the SD Jain Girls College, Dimapur and is slated to begin at1 pm. Premier Enterprises was conceived of and started by a group of young professionals who say they seek to empower students through career counselling, educational placements and organizing trade fairs.

“This venture is primarily to help the young people of our state and as such no charges are realized from them for any service,” Patty Kire, one of the members to the concern says.

She is of the opinion that there are limited jobs available with the State government and it is incumbent upon the youth to take up job oriented study courses which will help them in getting a job outside Nagaland or even outside the country.

Premier Enterprises has been approved by the State Bank of India as event managers for conducting education fairs and has already tied up with various institutions, colleges and schools for participating in an education fair which is to be held shortly. The fair will cover career options ranging from jewellery designing to marine biology to aeronautical engineering. While career guidanceand educational placements are on an ongoing basis, the conducting of education fairs is to be carried out once or twice in a year.

As Ira of Premier Enterprises puts it, “Most parents have to put their children in the local colleges which offer only three courses; BSc, BA and B Com.”

Her partner Ngayin adds, “The students passing out from these colleges are ill equipped to meet the challenges of the world as all vocations are now specialized.”
