DIMAPUR, JULY 26 (MExN): The HQ IGAR (North) organised a ceremony on July 26 to commemorate the sacrifice of all martyrs who laid down their lives during Kargil War 1999 (OP VIJAY). The function was organised at the memorial of Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, the brave officer who laid down his life in the line of duty for the Nation for which he was awarded the Mahavir Chakra, posthumously.           

Major General  VPS Kaushik, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), ranks of the formation, well-wishers and family members of Captain N Kengurusue, alongwith ex-servicemen paid homage at his memorial at Pheza, which is located near his native village Nerhema. 

The ceremony included wreath laying by IGAR (North) and other officials. It was followed by a prayer and song dedication by Pastor and Choir from Nerhema village. Interaction with Ex-Servicemen and pipe band display was also carried out. 

Saluting the martyr for his exceptional act of bravery, Major General VPS Kaushik, SM spoke of Late Captain N Kenguruse, MVC, being a source of motivation and inspiration to all ranks of the Armed forces and exhorted the youth to emulate what Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse lived and died for.
